Dave began his fascination with electronics at the age of 8 when he took apart his parents alarm clock just to see how it worked.  After many appliances and electronics later, he received his first electronic circuit board kit (Thanks Mom for all the patience!).

A few years later he began his professional career in electronics in 1993 at a big box retailer Circuit City.  During his 2 1/2 years at Circuit City he worked in the Cellular Department, Car Audio, Home Audio and Video.  He also was a manager of the Car Audio Department and Home Audio and Video Departments.

In 1995 Dave left the world of big box retail to be a store manager for a independent custom retailer that specialized in Cellular, Satellite, TVs and Surround Sound.  After 3 months Dave was promoted to General Manager managing the day to day activities and operations of the company’s 7 retail locations throughout the St. Louis area.  In addition to those activities Dave was responsible for designing and implementing a software program that would track inventory, daily sales activities, sales prospecting, and overall operations of the retail locations.

In 1999 Dave left retail to start his own custom installation company specializing in DirecTV and DISH Network satellite systems along with surround sound and video sales, service and installation.  In 2000 Dave was checking up on one of his installers on a satellite installation on a new custom home when he walked into the basement and saw something that changed his business – a structured wiring panel.  The first thought of “If every home had one of these, the possibilities would be unlimited”, proved to be the turning point for his company.  The next few weeks were filled with numerous hours of research on the internet discovering all the ins and outs of a great new industry.  Within 6 months of first discovering a structured wiring panel Dave had setup an agreement with his first builder.

In November 2006 after 7 years of building his integration company, Dave was offered a deal to sell his company to a local competitor.  After 8 long years growing the company and dealing with all the stresses, Dave decided to sell his company in January 2007.  He worked with the company that purchased his company helping facilitate the transition until June 2007.  Dave took a break from the industry for a whole weekend, then he started k2 Dealer Services.
